Background
The American Institute of Architects was established more than 150 years ago. But like many historic institutions, they are dismantling a reputation of being stodgy and exclusionary. This user-centric redesign centers AIA’s vast library of resources, advocacy efforts, and the real human beings that comprise the architecture industry.
01 Elegant motion and micro-interactions.
AIA’s brand is classic and subtle. When providing direction for motion design, scroll animations, and interactions I aimed to create an atmosphere that supports those qualities.
02 Streamlined resource library.
The AIA engages individuals from diverse industries, backgrounds, and experience levels. To enhance user experience, we restructured the presentation of their resources, guiding individuals to content that is most relevant to them.
03 Responsive design.
The flexible design maintains a great user experience at any screen size.
04 Modular page builder.
The AIA is constantly authoring new pages for events, awards, and resources. The page builder is comprised of 40+ components and variants that can be rearranged and remixed in infinite combinations.
